Mentor Program Fundraising - DONATE NOW

From Myron Peterson, IBA President

Mentorship is one of 4 key tenants of IBA’s mission to promote excellence in bands.  The IAAE Mentorship program (for which IAAE and IBA are interdependent upon each other to execute) is the core of how IBA works towards that mission.

IBA has financially supported this program, and we hope members and districts will consider chipping in a little, too. (or a lot.... don’t let me hold you back!)

Be sure to earmark contributions specifically towards IAAE’s mentoring program.

From Leon Kuehner, IAAE Executive Director

Just a quick not to update you on the IAAE $25,000 in 25 Days Fund Drive.  As of October 12, we have raised $9,170 from 75 donors.   This is a great accomplishment and I know we can reach our goal. In the past 5 years, the IAAE mentor program has funded 1,076 mentor visits to beginning music & art teachers in 410 schools in our state.  The grant has also provided over 250 scholarships for beginning teachers to attend the IMEA, ICDA, IBA and AEI conferences.  We are hoping we can match the $25,000 from the Iowa legislature so this program can continue.
